Résumé

Flourishing quantitatively and qualitatively in the early 60s, the poetic production of the DRC experienced a crisis until the end of the Mobutu era. In the fiftieth anniversary of independence, poetry seems to refresh around the themes of homeland and its reconstruction. The reflections proposed in these pages are not limited to the presentation of some Congolese intellectuals and their works - poets, filmmakers and musicians who live in the country or elsewhere, speaking in French, but also in some local or world languages. The intention is rather to show how Congolese poetry in the recent years invites to a mental decolonization and an anti-systemic utopian project.

  • Silvia Riva, University of Milan

    Silvia RIVA holds a PhD in Francophone Literature at the University of Bologna. She is professor of Francophone Cultures and contemporary French literature at the University of Milan. Her fields of study relate to the extra-European French-speaking literatures (in particular sub-Saharan Africa) and the extreme contemporary French literature, particularly poetry. From 2014 she is part of the World Literature Institute and animates a permanent seminar on the same topic at the University of Milan. 

    Among his publications on African literature, remember the monographs Nouvelle histoire de la litterature du Congo-Kinshasa (Paris, L'Harmattan, 2006) and a history of Malian literature appeared in 1993 (Rome, Bulzoni), as well as numerous essays and articles related to the relationship between literature, History and anthropology. Silvia Riva is also associate editor for the journal  "Ponts / Ponts. Langues, littératures, civilisations des pays francophones " (University of Milan).
