Abstract

A synthesis of almost two decades of archaeological excavations in Nora (CA) allows us to reconsider some historical and urbanism aspects of the ancient city. The research focused on the central area, already partially investigated during the 50s and the 60s: new data emerged relating above all to private buildings, their stratigraphic and planimetric articulations, and their decorative elements, including mosaics and frescoed walls.

  • Giorgio Bejor, University of Milan

    Giorgio Bejor, former Full Professor of Archeology and History of Greek Art at the University of Milan, was Scientific Director of LANX, the online journal of the School of Specialization in Archaeological Heritage of the University of Milan and Director of the same school. He mainly dealt with problems of sculpture, architecture and urbanism, conducting numerous excavations and researches in Tuscany, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia, Greece, Turkey, Syria. He currently leads the excavations of the University of Milan in Nora (Sardinia), Gortys (Crete) and Kyme (Turkey).
