Piersandra Di Matteo is a performing arts theorist, dramaturg, and curator. She is research fellow in the frame of ERC funded project «INCOMMON» at Iuav University of Venice, where she teaches “Curating Performing Arts.” Her theoretical interests range from contemporary theater to politics of the voice, from dramaturgy to practices in curating. She has been invited to hold conferences and seminars in international research centers and universities (Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Singapore, Montréal, Amsterdam, New York City, Philadelphia, San Paolo, Belo Horizonte). She is Romeo Castellucci’s closest theoretical collaborator, working in Europe’s foremost theaters, museums, and international festivals, among the others Festival d’Avignon, Ruhrtriennale, La Monnaie Bruxelles, Schaubühne Berlin, Wiener Festwochen, Opéra de Paris, Opéra de Lyon, Bayerische Staatsoper, Salzburger Festspiele. She is also collaborating as dramaturg with the Argentine director Lola Arias. She was the artistic curator of Atlas of Transitions Biennale for ERT (2018–2020). Currently, she is the artistic director of Short Theatre (Rome 2021–2024).
